Ghana’s Rent Control Department and the Bank of Ghana have begun coordinated efforts to crack down on the growing practice of charging rent in US dollars across parts of the country.
Acting Rent Commissioner Frederick Opoku says the practice violates Ghana’s legal tender laws and reflects wider disorder within the rental sector.
