High-level bilateral discussions in Abuja focus on attracting Saudi real estate developers, advancing modern construction technology, and funding large-scale urban development initiatives.
The Nigerian Federal Government has concluded strategic discussions with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to forge a comprehensive bilateral partnership aimed at accelerating housing delivery, boosting foreign direct investment, and transferring modern construction technologies.
The initiative was highlighted during a high-level meeting in Abuja between Nigeria's Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Engr. Muttaqha Rabe Darma, and the Saudi Ambassador to Nigeria, Yousef Bin Muhammad Al-Balawi.
The proposed collaboration seeks to leverage Saudi Arabia’s expertise in rapid urban development and large-scale housing delivery to address Nigeria's substantial housing deficit.
Strategic areas of focus include attracting Saudi property developers into the Nigerian housing market, expanding Public-Private Partnership (PPP) frameworks, and establishing localized building material hubs to lower overall construction costs.
Emphasizing the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, officials highlighted that foreign partnerships are critical for transforming housing into a primary engine for job creation and national economic growth.
