Radisson Prepares R750 Million Serviced Apartment Launch in South African Hotspot

One of the world's biggest hotel brands is expanding beyond traditional hotels in South Africa. Radisson is bringing luxury serviced apartments to Umhlanga in a R750 million development targeting investors and long-stay travellers.

Radisson Hotel Group has announced plans to launch Radisson Serviced Apartments Umhlanga, a R750 million mixed-use development in KwaZulu-Natal's fast-growing Umhlanga Ridge precinct.

Scheduled to open in 2029, the project will feature 155 fully furnished, hotel-managed apartments that combine private ownership with hospitality services.

The development reflects growing demand for branded residences that offer investors rental income opportunities alongside premium lifestyle amenities.

As international hotel groups deepen their presence in Africa, serviced apartments are emerging as a fast-growing asset class, particularly in business and tourism hubs.
