Marriott International has opened Kampala Marriott Hotel and Marriott Executive Apartments Kampala in Nsambya, marking the debut of both the Marriott Hotels and Marriott Executive Apartments brands in Uganda.
The dual-branded property is situated minutes from Kampala's city centre and approximately 40 kilometres from Entebbe International Airport, providing access to diplomatic missions, corporate headquarters and government institutions, as well as cultural attractions including the Uganda Museum, Independence Monument and Kabaka's Palace.
Kampala Marriott Hotel features 181 guestrooms and suites, including a Presidential Suite, with a skybridge linking twin towers and guestrooms offering views across the city's hills and, from select rooms, partial views of Lake Victoria. The hotel also features its signature Greatroom lobby, an M Club lounge, six restaurants and bars, a spa, fitness centre and an outdoor heated swimming pool.
The hotel offers 1,293 square metres of event space across six venues, including the Kampala Grand Ballroom with capacity for up to 1,000 guests. Marriott Executive Apartments Kampala features 96 fully serviced apartments, ranging from studios to a three-bedroom penthouse, with separate living, dining and sleeping areas and fully equipped kitchens.
Johan Cronjé, Regional Vice President, Sub-Saharan Africa, Marriott International, said the company sees increasing demand for hospitality experiences catering to a broad range of traveller needs as Uganda's tourism and business sectors evolve.
The opening expands Marriott International's portfolio in Uganda to seven properties across five brands. Marriott International operates more than 10,000 properties in 148 countries and territories as of June 30, 2026.
