Isuan Agro Estate holds first Land Bankers Summit in Abuja

Isuan Agro Estate Ltd (AHARA) has held the maiden edition of its Land Banker Summit in Abuja to fill the knowledge gap of Nigerians on real estate and investments.

The convener of the summit and Managing Director of Isuan Agro Estate, Ohimai Abraham, said the company took the initiative to give people the confidence that genuine properties exist and to show how to find and invest in them. “What we discovered is there is a shortage of knowledge. A lot of Nigerians are not educated when it comes to real estate and real estate investments. And there is a lot of distrust, disinformation, fear and so many negativities around that space,” Abraham said.

Abraham dispelled the belief that land and property ownership is strictly for the rich, stressing that land and real estate ownership is for every human being. He urged Nigerians without capital to acquire land in emerging corridors, noting that such areas gradually become cities, and pointed to Karshi in the Federal Capital Territory, where the company is focusing on land banking.

He also urged the government to do more on infrastructure provision, which he said is one aspect that makes property appreciate in emerging corridors.

The Executive Secretary of the Network for Agricultural Technical Education of Nigeria, Newton Ovie, said land ownership can be sustainably used to create food security and provide wealth for the common populace. He urged low-income earners to form associations or cooperatives to acquire land for specific purposes and allocate it amongst themselves because of the high cost of land.
