A Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the final forfeiture of 52 terrace and maisonette housing units in Lekki to the Federal Government following an application by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The properties, located at Mercyville Estate in Ilasan, Lekki, were linked to Fielddreams Limited, Ifeanyi Nweke, and Amex Savings and Loans Limited.
The court ruled that the units were reasonably suspected to have been acquired through unlawful activities after reviewing evidence presented during the proceedings. The forfeiture follows an earlier interim order issued in 2024, which allowed interested parties to challenge the government’s claim over the assets.
The decision reinforces Nigeria’s wider push to strengthen accountability within high-value property markets, where authorities have increasingly focused on tracing ownership structures and sources of funds.
