Nigeria Breaks Into Africa’s Most Expensive Luxury Rental Markets
Written on
Nigeria’s luxury housing market is outperforming expectations. Lagos and Abuja now rank among Africa’s costliest rental destinations as wealthy tenants compete for limited premium homes.
Nigeria has secured a place among Africa’s top 15 most expensive luxury rental markets, with prime four-bedroom homes in Lagos and Abuja averaging around $3,000 per month.
The ranking reflects strong demand from high-net-worth individuals, expatriates, multinational companies and corporate executives seeking premium residential spaces.
The country’s luxury rental market remains concentrated in high-end areas such as Ikoyi, Banana Island, Eko Atlantic City, Maitama and Asokoro, where limited supply continues to support high prices.
While Nigeria faces broader housing affordability challenges, investors are finding resilience in the premium segment as demand for secure, well-developed communities continues to grow.
