KUSCCO puts land, houses and commercial blocks in 12 counties up for auction

Written on

Kenya's liquidated co-operative union has listed vacant plots, maisonettes, rental blocks and unfinished buildings for public auction in November 2026, with sales in Nairobi, Kisumu and Mombasa.

KUSCCO Limited, the umbrella body for Kenya's savings and credit co-operative societies that is being wound up, has listed land parcels, houses and commercial buildings for public auction across 12 counties in November 2026, according to an auction notice issued through Watts Auctions on October 28.

The assets range from vacant plots and three-bedroom maisonettes to four-bedroom bungalows, multi-unit rental buildings, shops, a motor vehicle workshop and properties still under construction. The largest single listing is a 4.1-hectare vacant plot at Ngurunga in Kajiado County, with other plots in Kitengela, Olturoto, Kisaju, Korompoi and Ngong.

Several assets are incomplete. The notice lists a residential building in Mombasa at 30 per cent completion, a maisonette in Kajiado at 40 per cent, a commercial block under construction near Katito Trading Centre in Kisumu at 40 per cent and a maisonette in Kitengela at 50 per cent. Listings also include a rental building near Kisumu International Airport, vacant plots in Kilifi, Bamburi and Kiembeni, an unfinished residential building in Bombolulu, rental buildings in Bungoma, a three-bedroom bungalow in Nakuru, property in Kileleshwa, Nairobi, and vacant land in Luanda Kotieno, Siaya County.

The auctions are grouped by region. Properties in Nairobi, Central, Kajiado and Mount Kenya will be sold on Wednesday, November 11, at Watts Auctions, View Park Towers, Nairobi. Western, Nyanza, Rift Valley and Kisii region assets go under the hammer on Friday, November 20, at the public park near Absa Bank in Kisumu town, while coastal properties are scheduled for Friday, November 27, at Canon Towers in Mombasa.

KUSCCO was placed in liquidation after the government cancelled its registration over liquidity challenges, according to a Gazette Notice dated August 31, 2026. Liquidation involves taking control of an institution's assets, recovering debts owed to it and distributing the proceeds to creditors through a structured process. The notice provides land reference numbers, descriptions, acreage and directions for the listed properties.
