Gideon Moi's Land Title Goes Missing as Registry Begins Replacement Process

Written on

Kenya's Lands Registry has begun replacing a missing title document for a property registered to former Baringo Senator Gideon Moi in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County, and has invited public objections within 60 days.

Former Baringo County Senator Gideon Moi has reported missing land documentation linked to a property registered in his name, prompting the Lands Registry to start a replacement process, according to a gazette notice dated October 2.

According to the notice, the former senator is the registered proprietor of the property, which is located in Trans Nzoia District, where the Lands Registry said the document had been lost.

The notice identifies the land as L.R. No. 2116/1054, situated in Kitale Municipality in Trans Nzoia District, held by virtue of a grant registered as I.R. 53898/1, with Gideon Towet Moi of P.O. Box 51990, Nairobi, listed as proprietor.

The Registrar of Titles stated that sufficient evidence had been presented to demonstrate that the original grant could no longer be accounted for, paving the way for the replacement process.

The Lands Registry has consequently given members of the public 60 days to raise any objections to the proposed replacement, after which no objections will be received.
