Tanzania's Mkuyu Africa plans more than 3,000 housing units for sale and rent

Mkuyu Africa says it will develop more than 3,000 modern homes for sale and rental, with founder Juneid Othman announcing the plan during the Russia-Africa summit in Moscow.

Tanzanian real estate firm Mkuyu Africa plans to develop more than 3,000 modern housing units for sale and rental, the company said during the Third Russia-Africa Summit of Heads of State and Government in Moscow.

Founder and chief executive Juneid Othman said the proposed developments are intended to widen access to quality housing, attract investment into the real estate market and support the growth of modern urban centres. He said the firm would work with local and international partners in the housing and construction industries, with modern technologies and new architectural designs central to the plans.

His participation came as Prime Minister Mwigulu Nchemba, who represented President Samia Suluhu Hassan at the summit, urged Tanzanian entrepreneurs, particularly young people, to turn opportunities gained through international engagements into investments at home. The Tanzania-Russia Business Forum on the sidelines of the summit explored cooperation in energy, agriculture, mining, construction and infrastructure.

Othman is also involved in investment education through Miliki Mali, a platform providing information on real estate, finance and investment, and is associated with the Tanzania Brokers Association Board, which promotes professionalism and standards in property brokerage. He said growth in the sector requires closer collaboration among stakeholders, greater public awareness of investment opportunities and wider use of technology.

The company did not disclose the locations, cost or construction timeline for the planned units.
