Minor Hotels and Bloom Holding sign Anantara Retreat Rabat in Morocco debut

Written on

Minor Hotels and Abu Dhabi developer Bloom Holding have agreed to develop the 38-key Anantara Retreat Rabat, marking both groups' entry into Morocco's hospitality market with an opening targeted for early 2030.

Minor Hotels and Abu Dhabi-based developer Bloom Holding have signed an agreement to develop Anantara Retreat Rabat in Morocco, marking both groups' entry into the country's hospitality market.

The luxury boutique hotel, scheduled to open in early 2030, will feature 38 keys in Rabat's diplomatic district, approximately 20 minutes from the city centre. The property will combine traditional Moroccan architecture with contemporary design, offering luxury rooms, suites and seven three-bedroom villas.

Facilities will include a signature restaurant, a Moroccan tea lounge, a swimming pool, a fitness centre, the Anantara Spa, meeting rooms and social spaces. The development is designed to serve diplomatic, corporate and affluent leisure travellers, with access to Rabat's key business and cultural destinations.

William Heinecke, Chairman and Founder of Minor International, the parent company of Minor Hotels, said Morocco represented an exciting new market for the group. "Anantara Retreat Rabat will bring the brand's distinctive approach to luxury hospitality to a city where heritage, culture, nature and contemporary life come together," he said.

Carlos Wakim, Chief Executive Officer of Bloom Holding, said the commercial partnership with Minor Hotels reflected the developer's strategy of working with leading global operators to deliver hospitality destinations as it expands its international portfolio. The tie-up pairs Bloom Holding's premium property development expertise with Minor Hotels' global hospitality experience to establish the Anantara brand in Morocco.
