Co-operative Bank of Kenya and Fanaka Real Estate have signed a partnership in which the developer will provide land and the lender will finance buyers seeking to acquire and develop property, including homes and commercial developments.
Co-operative Bank and Fanaka Real Estate have struck a partnership in property ownership under which the developer will provide land and the bank will provide financing for Kenyans seeking to become property owners.
Speaking at the signing in Nairobi on Friday, Co-op Bank Head of Mortgage Finance Fridah Mitei said the lender has the scale, reach and capacity to support customers across the country. Fanaka Real Estate has projects across key growth corridors and four branches.
The bank said the arrangement is not limited to financing land acquisition, but will also support development of the property, whether building a home or a commercial development. Fanaka chief executive Moses Muriithi said the partnership would allow more Kenyans to acquire land in their place of choice and develop it.
Co-op Bank reported total assets of more than KSh869 billion, profit before tax of KSh23.1 billion for the half year 2026, 223 branches, 619 SACCO front offices, over 16,000 Co-op Kwa Jirani agents and 609 ATMs and CDMs.
Fanaka sells land in areas including Mombasa Road, Thika Road, Kangundo Road, Kitengela, Kenyatta Road, Ngong and Kikuyu. The deal follows a separate agreement between Fanaka Real Estate and KUPPET Nairobi to help teachers acquire land and develop it within the Nairobi metropolis.
