A heritage building on Loop Street in Cape Town's city centre is being reimagined as The Delaporte, a boutique hotel that brings together individually owned residences, considered hospitality and a professionally managed hotel operation.
At 153 Loop Street, the project retains the character of its original architecture while introducing a contemporary architectural addition. It comprises 43 individually owned sectional-title studios and design suites, priced from R1.895 million VAT-inclusive, with purchasers able to participate in a professionally managed rental pool or use their residence privately.
The building has been reimagined around the experience of a boutique hotel, with a dedicated lobby, ground-floor restaurant, rooftop pool and sauna, terrace and fitness studio forming a collection of spaces for owners and guests.
Loop Street occupies a distinctive position within the city centre, close to the energy of Bree Street, Long Street and Kloof Street. The City of Cape Town's CBD Mobility and Access Plan identifies Loop, Long and Bree Streets as key activity streets within a more connected, walkable central-city environment, supported by the Central City Improvement District and continued public and private investment in the surrounding precinct.
That setting places The Delaporte within easy reach of established destinations: Kloof Street is approximately five minutes away on foot, the V&A Waterfront around eight minutes by car, and Camps Bay approximately 15 minutes via Kloof Nek.
Interiors use generous proportions, integrated joinery and a palette of honed Rustenburg stone, warm oak, brushed chrome, satin nickel, fluted glass and textured finishes. The operator said its approach is centred on hospitality details, from how guests are welcomed to how spaces are maintained.
