Kenya Reinsurance Corporation’s Reinsurance Plaza, an 18-storey commercial building at the junction of Aga Khan Walk and Taifa Road, anchors the state insurer’s Nairobi property portfolio alongside Kenya Re Towers and Anniversary Towers.
Reinsurance Plaza, an 18-storey commercial building in Nairobi’s central business district, houses office tenants and retail businesses and stands at the junction of Aga Khan Walk and Taifa Road, directly opposite the High Court and Nairobi Cinema.
Kenya Reinsurance Corporation Limited (Kenya Re), which owns the property and uses it as its head office, says the building has offices on 17 upper floors while shops occupy the ground and mezzanine floors. It has two basement parking levels and facilities including passenger lifts, a standby generator, borehole water supply, fibre-optic internet connectivity and 24-hour CCTV surveillance.
The corporation also lists energy-efficient fittings and solar grid panels among the building’s features, alongside accessibility facilities for persons with disabilities. It describes the property as combining commercial offices with retail space in an area where office buildings, public institutions and retail businesses are concentrated.
Kenya Re identifies the National Treasury, Kenya Revenue Authority, the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, the Office of the Deputy President and the Office of the Attorney General among the government institutions located near the property, which it presents as a commercial address close to key public institutions and financial service providers.
Reinsurance Plaza sits within a wider commercial property portfolio. Kenya Re also owns Kenya Re Towers in Upper Hill, a twin-tower development with steel-and-glass cladding comprising one tower of 10 office floors and another of six, plus three upper parking floors and a basement level, with tenants and associates including Bamburi Cement, Ernst & Young and the African Trade Insurance Agency.
The portfolio also includes Anniversary Towers, a 22-storey building along University Way in the city centre, and a Reinsurance Plaza in Kisumu — an eight-storey commercial building with 55 open parking spaces at the junction of Jomo Kenyatta Highway and Oginga Odinga Road.
