Hassan Allam Utilities, the Alexandria Port Authority and Al Tarek Capital have agreed to assess developing an integrated logistics hub across roughly 273,000 square metres at Dekheila Port.
Hassan Allam Utilities has signed a tripartite agreement with the Alexandria Port Authority and Al Tarek Capital Real Estate Asset Management to assess the establishment, development and operation of an integrated regional and international logistics hub at Dekheila Port in Egypt.
The proposed project covers approximately 273,000 square metres in the port's western hinterland and is intended to support regional distribution, re-export, transit, transshipment and value-added logistics activities. Its planned services include regional and international distribution, transit and transshipment, storage and cargo handling, value-added logistics and light industrial activities.
The agreement was signed by Amr Allam, co-CEO of Hassan Allam Holding and chairman of Hassan Allam Utilities; Rear Admiral Ehab Salah, chairman of the Alexandria Port Authority; and Mohamed Tarek, chairman of Al Tarek Capital Real Estate Asset Management. The ceremony took place in the presence of Lieutenant General Kamel Al-Wazir, Egypt's Minister of Transportation.
The land plot is intended to be incorporated into Dekheila Port's customs zone, and the development aims to secure free-zone status or a comparable regulatory and operational framework permitting the planned logistics and industrial activities, subject to approvals. The partners will proceed subject to execution of a final agreement, fulfilment of applicable conditions and receipt of the necessary approvals.
The hub is expected to strengthen Dekheila Port's role as a regional trade and logistics gateway in the Eastern Mediterranean by linking port connectivity with distribution, cargo handling and value-added services, with the aim of attracting investment, easing trade flows and improving supply-chain efficiency.
Amr Allam said transport and logistics remain central to Hassan Allam Utilities' investment strategy, highlighting the opportunity to improve connections between ports, distribution networks and industrial activities.
