State Housing Company Limited has started a nationwide audit and recovery exercise covering its lands and properties, giving occupants and dealers without valid authority 21 days to regularise their interests or vacate.
The State Housing Company Limited (SHC) has commenced a nationwide audit and recovery exercise covering its lands and properties, targeting individuals and entities occupying or dealing with SHC property without valid authority.
In a public notice issued on Thursday, September 24, 2026, the state-owned housing company said the exercise covers persons occupying SHC land without lawful authority, those encroaching on its lands, and those whose leases or other interests have expired.
It will also cover individuals developing or occupying SHC property without the required approvals, as well as those who have unlawfully assigned, sublet, transferred or otherwise dealt with SHC property.
Affected persons have been given 21 days from the date of the notice to regularise their occupation or interest where legally permissible, apply for renewal of expired leases where applicable, or give vacant possession of the affected property. They have also been directed to present their relevant lease, allocation, payment and other supporting documents for verification.
SHC warned that persons without a valid and subsisting interest in its property who fail to comply within the stipulated period may be subject to lawful recovery and other remedies available under applicable law. The company also cautioned the public against purchasing, leasing, developing or otherwise dealing with its land without first verifying the status of the property and the authority of the person purporting to transact with them.
