Four Seasons has announced plans for Four Seasons Resort Tangier in the city's Cap Malabata district, to be developed in partnership with Royal Resort Cap Malabata, a luxury development company backed by GFH.
The resort will be Four Seasons' fourth property in Morocco, joining Four Seasons Hotel Casablanca, Four Seasons Resort Marrakech and Four Seasons Hotel Rabat at Kasr Al Bahr. No formal opening date has been announced.
"As our fourth property in Morocco, Four Seasons Resort Tangier expands our collection in one of the region's most compelling destinations," said Ricardo Suarez, group head of development at Four Seasons. "We look forward to bringing this exceptional project to life and creating a Resort that reflects the character of Tangier."
The resort will sit on Morocco's northern coastline, where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean, overlooking the Strait of Gibraltar with views of Spain across the water. It will have 99 guest rooms and suites, including 27 standalone villas, and more than 260 metres of waterfront.
The property was designed by Arjitec with interiors by Goddard Littlefair. Four Seasons said it will offer pool and waterfront lounging areas, four signature dining venues, a full-service spa and fitness centre, and flexible indoor and outdoor venues for events. It is about 15 minutes from Tangier's high-speed train station and 45 minutes from Tangier Ibn Battouta Airport.
Abdulwahed Al Kooheji, chief executive officer of Royal Resort Cap Malabata, described the project as an integrated development aimed at strengthening Tangier's luxury hospitality offering and supporting its growth as a regional and international destination.
