Zimbabwe has launched the housing agenda under its National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2), with a strong focus on expanding access to affordable homes for vulnerable citizens. The government says the plan will rely on partnerships between the public sector, private investors, and civil society to increase housing supply, promote innovative financing, and encourage sustainable construction methods. Officials also identified land access, infrastructure, and funding as key challenges that require joint solutions. By combining public land with private capital, Zimbabwe hopes to accelerate housing delivery while supporting economic growth and stronger communities.
