Unanswered Property Leads Cost Zimbabwe Agents Millions

Over 2,400 property enquiries went unanswered in just one month, costing Zimbabwean agents thousands in lost commissions. A new CRM platform hopes to turn missed messages into closed deals.

Zimbabwean real estate agencies are missing major revenue opportunities by failing to respond promptly to online property enquiries, according to data presented by PropertyBook. The platform recorded 13,223 WhatsApp enquiries in a month, but more than 2,400 received no response, including over 1,000 potential property sales.

Based on estimated conversion rates and average home prices, the unanswered sales enquiries could represent about US$4.5 million in missed transactions and roughly US$227,000 in lost agent commissions. To improve response times, PropertyBook is developing Origin CRM, a platform that centralises listings and enquiries from multiple channels, helping agents manage leads more efficiently. The company believes faster follow-up could significantly improve sales performance across Zimbabwe's property market.
